This week, we had a small group discussion, presenting our 3 ideas we have for the final project. We received critical feedback from Daniel and those in our group, aiming to challenge the ideas and define the scope.

We had to be prepared and present 3 ideas which included the following.

Idea 1

Problem Statement

Experiencing pregnancy after pregnancy loss such as miscarriage or stillbirth can be an intense, anxious, fearful and emotional distressing time. Many mother can feel isolated and lack consistent emotional and informational support throughout this new pregnancy.

Existing pregnancy apps focus on milestones and information, articles, overlooking the psychological needs of those with previous pregnancy loss.

Proposed Solution

A mobile app aimed to support pregnant mothers after experiencing loss, offering emotional support, with future focused technology, The app includes a heartbeat monitor which connects with app, that allows the mother to visualise the baby's heartbeat within the app, as it is such a vulnerable and scary time the mother might need the reassurance that her baby is healthy. App can also include features like community feature, journaling, mood tracking and connections to professional advice

A perceived target market

Women aged 25–40 who are pregnant after experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss.
