For our last 303 class of second year, we had a final critique, we were asked to present our app that we have been working on this semester.

I made my presentation on Figma Slides, this was fairly easy and I could just copy over things such as the logo and colour schemes from my Figma board. Below are my slides that I uploaded onto the miro board to be presented.

The presentation itself went quite well, I feel like after showing my app and talking through it, I realised myself some things I need to change myself before any one else critiqued my app. Such as, I included my brand guidelines before actually explaining my app, if I explained the problem and the solution first it may of been easier to understand the reasoning behind the choice of colour, type and tone.

After I had presented my app, I received a question from one of my classmates, “what if the user is too intoxicated to use the app?”, I am really glad this was asked as this is something that is important and actually is one of the reasons for my app’s purpose. Realistically, if the user is too drunk, there is nothing the app can physically do to encourage them to use the app. However, if the user is too drunk, the chances of them taking their safety snap to confirm their safety is very low… The group that the user will be in including the users they are currently out with, will be notified that one of their friends hasn't confirmed their safety and encouraged to check up on them by providing their location.

Apart from my classmates the lecturer also provided some advice after which was really helpful.

I also included a link to my prototype to give everyone a better idea of how my app actually works, I feel like after the lecture looked through my app he understood the different features more.

Overall, I was quite nervous for this presentation however, looking back on first year I have defintley grown in confidence over presenting. Presenting used to be my worse fear and I would never want to do it, but for this presentation I felt confident in my idea and knew I had enough research to back my idea up so I wasn't extremely nervous. This critique was really crucial for my final prototyped app as I can now make the finding touches before finally completing this project.
