For our first week of Interaction design, we were introduced to the starting point of every design. There are three main elements of design, point, line and plane. These are used as the building blocks of a final design.

As our first task, we had to come up with our own designs using point, line and plane. Point suggests a location and has no dimension, where as a line has one dimension. A line has length and width that can be altered to the designers desire. A plane has 2 dimension and also length and width.

Before designing these sketches on Figma I made sketches, as this is very useful and a design principle. I have shown my final digital designs below.

Point

For point we had to design a frame including three; two points, three points and five points. I have included my designs below.

This was my first time ever using Figma and I found it incredibly simple to make these designs by using the circle tool and adjusting the size. I came up with nine different designs using point.

Line

The next step was line, for this part of the task we had to design three; two lines, three lines and five lines.

For lines I am pleased with how they turned out, however some seem very simplistic and I think I could have showed a little more creativity such as creating a resemblance of a birds eye view of a city. I particularly like the last set of lines as they are not as simplistic.
