This week was the first week of 501 project, we were introduced through the basic reminder information such as attendance being important, the projects mark rubric etc. It is always refreshing to hear this information again as there is always something that slips your mind. Over the summer, I had a few ideas in mind that I am interested in and think could be great potentials for my final year project.
To get us in that Idea generation mindset, we completed a group project in class to come up with an intervention tackling one of these areas.
Climate Change
Global Pandemics
Surveillance Capitalisim
Income Inequality
Disinformation / Misinformation
Homelessness– Borders
Inflation / Financial Crisis
Immigration & Refugees
Energy Crisis
War
Cost of Living Crisis
Artificial Intelligence
Me Too / Gender Equality
Racial Inequality
In our group we chose Surveillance Capitalism, looking at Internet Cookies, in particular. We recognised that half of our group(me included) accepts cookies every time they go on a new website, without knowing exactly what they are accepting. According to Kaspersky,
