This week we had a critique class, I was quite nervous as I have quite a lot of screens done and if my app doesn't work or I get told that this isn't what we are expected to provide, it might have to be redone. However, I am quite confident in my idea and feel like I have plenty of research to back my ideas up.

We were asked to complete a presentation slide deck which gives an introduction to the project and brand, also include problem and vision statement, brand guidelines and wireframe screens. Below is my slide deck that I uploaded to the miro board.

To start with we completed an exercise where everyone left notes on their first impressions of the brand, including what the purpose or focus of the app is or what the issue is. Below are the sticky notes that were left by my classmates.

I was expecting all the responses to include AI or something to do with AI, as the stars are similar to this logo. However, there was no notes left suggesting this, therefore I felt confident in keeping the stars as they suggest the nighttime aspect of the app.

I felt like my app could be misinterpreted or mistaken for a different focus, which looking at the notes a few thought the app was for targeting sleep or well being, however, my research backs up that this is actually more suited to the target audience as majority of University students wouldn't use an app if it is an obvious self help or safety app as they feel embarrassed for needing help and support in the first place.

For the User persona, the feedback was good and it was suggested that the research I completed was very strong. I said that I actually completed three user personas, 2 students and 1 parent. It was advised that I merge the students user personas together.
