This week we looked at Freelancing, this is something that we must consider as it is an option for our field of career.

What is Freelancing?

Freelancing is a way of working where individuals offer their services to clients on a project-by-project or contract basis, rather than being employed full-time by a single company. Freelancers usually have the flexibility to choose their own hours, clients, and projects, which means they are self employed and have control over their work life balance.

Tender/ Proposal Document

A Tender/ Proposal is a proposal or offer to provide goods, works or services at a certain price. Freelancers would use a Tender Document. This Document helps protect both you and the client by setting clear expectations for deadlines, charges, the details of work, and deliverables.

The Proposal must include:

• Cover Page
• Project Overview (What needs done)
• Project Approach (How it’s going to be done)
• Scope of Work (Who is involved)
• Assumptions (What you need to start)
• Deliverables (What you’ll produce)
• Ownerships & Rights (Work for hire / Licensing)
• Additional costs / fees (Expenses)
• Pricing & Payment Schedule (Your quote)
• Acknowledgement & Sign-off (Agreement to start)
